Repair Café Yakima will add a bicycle clinic to their repair day on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Yakima Maker Space, 16 N. 1st Street.
Besides the usual repairing of clocks, lamps, broken zippers, and weed whackers, the volunteers will focus on fixing bicycles and teaching those attending how to deal with flat tires, rusty chains and other simple repair needs.
Joining RCY in this clinic is the Yakima Kiwanis Club’s Free Bicycles 4 Kids group that repairs and donates bicycles throughout the Yakima area.
Patch kits and tire levers will be given out to the first 20 bicycle owners showing up. Repair Café Yakima is a group of volunteers who donate their time and expertise each third Saturday of every month to repair items, free of charge, that are brought in by area residents. Items usually worked on include small
kitchen appliances, clothing tears, electronics, small furniture, garden tools and anything that can be carried in.
