The Tik Tok Ban Bill has officially been signed into law by President Joe Biden after being passed by the Senate. Does this mean the end of Tik Tok. Here’s the details: TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, 270 days to sell the platform. If they do not comply, TikTok will be effectively banned from U.S. app stores and from internet hosting services. However, if the U.S. government feels the company is making appropriate steps made toward a sale as the closing of the window approaches, Biden can extend the deadline another 90 days.
TikTok CEO Shou Chew responds to the bill that could ban the app: “Make no mistake, this is a ban, a ban of TikTok and a ban on you and your voice.”
“Rest assured, we aren’t going anywhere.”
